(Secaucus, NJ--February 10, 2021) Arjun Athalye, an 11th-grade computer programming major in the Academy for Design and Fabrication (D|Fab) at High Tech High School, has landed a starring role in the second season of Are You Afraid of the Dark: Curse of the Shadows, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.
The six-episode anthology series centers on the Midnight Society, a group of teens who gather at midnight to share scary stories. Arjun plays Jai Malya, the level-headed member of the Midnight Society. This season, the Midnight Society tells the tale of a cursed town haunted by the Shadowman.
Originally airing on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1995, Are You Afraid of the Dark returned to the silver screen briefly in 1995 before being revived again in 2019. Since then, the show has gained critical and popular acclaim as a family-friendly horror show for teens.
For his part, Arjun says, “I’m genuinely proud of this project and can’t wait for everyone to see all the hard work that went into this show! There’s something in there for everyone to enjoy and I think people will be surprised by how cinematic it gets.”
