(January 25th, 2019--Jersey City, NJ) The Explore Middle School Parent Student Association (PSA) and staff celebrated a successful and fun evening at the annual Snow Ball dance.
After weeks of anticipation planning and creating decorations for the Snowball event, the students were thrilled to spend the evening dancing and bonding with friends.
High Tech High School alumni Sebastian Martinez and Zach Rada DJ’ed the event with the help of resident Explore tech guru, 8th grader, Henrik Van Tassell covering system setups and break down. The dance floor stayed packed from beginning to end with students, teachers, and parent chaperones. For information on booking email: email@example.com.
“This was the best DJ we’ve ever had. They both interacted and danced with us. It was really obvious they wanted us to have fun. They played great music. They took into consideration what we wanted to hear and took so many requests,” Angelina Torres, 8th grade.
Added to a night of dancing was a photo booth provided by the parents of 6th- grade student, Layza Velez. Students, staff, and parents were happy to document the night with the fun picture keepsakes. Ludwig Pahl, 6th-grade, also served as the photographer for the evening, snapping great action shots on and off the dance floor. “The photo booth was so nice. It provided us with something we can have to always remember this dance. It’s been my favorite dance ever,” Vice President of Student Council, Myles Morales shared.
The students and staff were grateful to be treated to dinner from two local restaurants. Roman Nose (125 Newark Avenue), owned by the family of 6th- grader Gio Fiore and Gino’s (380 Central Avenue) owned by Frankie Saputo’s family, 8th grade.
Maranda Robertson, “This was my last dance at Explore and it was one to remember. Not only was it the last but it was by far the best. The whole school came together and we really had a great night. It was a great opportunity to bond with everyone and we had the chance to get to know the first years more.”
“Congratulations on an amazing event! The kids had a blast, and it was an amazing showing of school spirit. The dedication of the Explore teachers and staff is clear. They were fully engaged with the kids, and the kids had a great time being with them. We are very blessed to be part of this school community,” shared veteran PSA parent Christine Harman Gladbach.
Ms. Krone wanted to express her gratitude to all of the parents, students and staff who made this event so successful. “"At the end of the dance, I was thanked over and over by students, Alex Potts, Anthony Ferullo, and Ayele Hyde to name a few. Parents emailed me the next morning that they had a fabulous time and their kids were exhausted from dancing all night. It made all of the hard work worth it!"
