(Somerset, NJ—May 2, 2015) Seven students in teacher Alba Nery Simon’s Industrial Design and Animation classes represented High Tech at the SkillsUSA New Jersey Championships at the Garden State Exhibit Center, winning gold and bronze medals, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.
Seniors Johnathan Apuzen of West New York and North Bergen resident Arjav Shah won gold medals for 3D Visualization and Animation. Gold medal winners move on to the SkillsUSA National Championships on June 24th-29th in Louisville, Kentucky. Seniors Rangoli Mittal of Bayonne and Harrison resident Anthony Chae won bronze medals in the same category.
Sophomore and Weehawken resident Hunter Keene won the bronze medal for Technical Drafting. Senior Anisha Mahat of Harrison and sophomore and Jersey City resident Hank Portney also won bronze medals for Mobile Robotics Technology.
“I am very proud of all our medal winners,” says Simon. “They worked very hard at preparing, practicing, and putting together everything necessary to compete. Their due diligence showed at the Championships.”
