(Secaucus, NJ––May 26, 2020) Five High Tech High School artists were recognized for their creativity after participating in the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Art Creativity Contest for Black History and Women’s History Months, announced Dr. Joseph A. Giammarella, Principal at High Tech High School.
For their creative expressions in celebration of Black History Month, winners were sophomores Hisham Bamba and Jasmine Loo, who were awarded first and second prize, followed by senior Ramier Villarama who took home third place honors. For Women’s History Month, first place went to sophomore Emma Fernandes-Santinho while Ramier Villarama took home the second place award. The students' work was shaped by the advice of HTHS Fine Arts instructors Bill Kennon and Eric VanZanten.
The winners were recognized by Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez at the May 18th Hudson County Schools of Technology board meeting.
