(Secaucus, NJ––January 11, 2022) High Tech High School alumni and Jersey City resident Obiamaka Nnadika was recently awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship and will study at Cambridge University this spring, announced Ms. Kathy Young, principal at High Tech High School.
Nnadika graduated HTHS in 2019 and is currently a junior majoring in government at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. A student of political philosophy and international politics, Nnadika expects to investigate the relationship between various political theories and governmental structures in African countries that gained post-Cold War independence. He plans to study these political frameworks and international relations through coursework in the Human, Social, and Political Sciences Department at Cambridge University, while also accessing the institution’s famous library.
The Gilman Scholarship Program is sponsored by the U. S. Department of State and offers undergraduate students grants up to $5,000 for international study or career-oriented internships.
