(May 20, 2015--Jersey City, NJ) High Tech's best young scientific minds gathered in the Duncan Family Sky Room in the MacMahon Student Center at St. Peter's University to be honored for their achievement in the Jersey Journal's 57th Annual Hudson County Science Fair, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.
High Tech junior Kapil Kanakaraj earned a gold medal for Chemistry, which qualified him to represent Hudson County at the 2015 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh. Bronze medal winners Anisha Mahat received the Dr. Irving Shulman Medical Award for Medicine & Health and Jessica Driscoll received the Dubby Schulman Young Scientist Award for Plant Science,
The
Jersey Journal's Hudson County Science Fair, sponsored by Liberty Science Center, Fidelity Investments, Carepoint Health, Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, New Jersey City University and Saint Peter's University, with support from Comcast/NBCUniveral, features approximately 100 students in grades 5 through 12, who came with proud family members to be awarded at the annual ceremony, Before the ceremony, some students displayed their award-winning projects for the audience.
