Habitat for Humanity – Architecture Seniors Trip
On March 13, 2024, the Architecture Studio seniors and a few juniors, guided by Ms. Batista, the architecture instructor, and Mr. Morrison, the guidance counselor, joined forces with Habitat for Humanity's Critical Repairs program. Working alongside volunteers like Construction Manager Rick, Foreman Darrian, and dedicated volunteer turned part-time contractor Dan was inspiring.
It was inspiring to meet the veteran woman whose home in Jersey City we were repairing. Our trip to Habitat for Humanity was an invaluable lesson in authentic learning experiences. Witnessing the students contribute their skills and knowledge in an impactful way was a powerful reminder of the significance of serving our Hudson County Community. By the day's end, we all felt productive and fulfilled, knowing we had contributed meaningfully to someone's life.
"I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience we had working with Habitat for Humanity. The team, led by Construction Manager Rick, Foreman Darrian, and contractor Dan, was exceptional. We were truly inspired by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects alongside such dedicated individuals. The students even got to meet the veteran woman whose home we were repairing.”
