On March 28th, students from French classes and the French Club embarked on a captivating cultural exploration at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The trip held particular significance for French 4 students, who are currently delving into the Impressionist movement. They were able to view firsthand the works of renowned Impressionist artists, gaining valuable insights that complemented their classroom studies. This experience brought their curriculum to life, allowing them to connect with the art they were learning about in a tangible and meaningful way.
Furthermore, this visit served as a precursor to the school’s highly anticipated annual event, "The Immersive French Museum." This upcoming event, designed to showcase the students' learning and creativity, will benefit greatly from the inspiration and knowledge garnered during the Metropolitan Museum trip.
"Visiting the Metropolitan Museum was an incredible opportunity for our students," said Dr. Gashi and Mr. Ona who chaperoned this trip. "Seeing the Impressionist works in person, especially, provided a powerful educational experience. It will undoubtedly enhance their understanding and preparation for 'The Immersive French Museum'."
This cultural exploration aligns with the school’s commitment to providing students with enriching and memorable learning experiences beyond the classroom.
The school community looks forward to "The Immersive French Museum," which will be held on April 8, where students will showcase their own interpretations and creations, inspired by their visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
