Cassidy Gormley Earns Recognition for Outstanding Community Contributions

Freshman and Jersey City resident Cassidy Gormley was recently honored with an Assembly Resolution by Assemblywoman Jessica Ramirez for her remarkable contributions to the community. The recognition comes as no surprise to those who know Cassidy, as she has shown extraordinary dedication and advocacy, particularly in the area of menstrual equity.

Cassidy's journey to this prestigious achievement began as part of her pursuit of the Girl Scout Bronze Award. During her Take Action Project, Cassidy spearheaded an initiative that led to the implementation of free menstrual products in all City-owned restrooms. This action demonstrated her commitment to addressing the needs of her peers, ensuring that everyone has access to essential health products.

But Cassidy's advocacy didn’t stop there. Determined to make an even greater impact, she went on to earn her Girl Scout Silver Award. As part of this effort, Cassidy successfully persuaded the Hudson County Schools of Technology (HCST) district to provide free menstrual products in girls' and all gender-neutral restrooms. This initiative further cemented her role as a powerful advocate for equity and inclusion in her community.

Cassidy’s dedication to bettering the lives of those around her is a testament to her hard work, perseverance, and determination. Her efforts serve as an inspiration to her classmates, school, and community as a whole.

Congratulations, Cassidy Gormley, on your well-deserved recognition! You are a true advocate and a shining example of how one person can make a lasting difference. Keep up the amazing work!
