On Friday, April 11th, the D|Fab Student Showcase was an inspiring display of creativity, technical skill, and community spirit. Students from all D|Fab majors presented a diverse range of impressive projects, including architectural models, prototypes, digital designs, and fabrication work. The event highlighted both student achievement and the interdisciplinary nature of the D|Fab program.
Advisory members—including architects, engineers, NJIT School of Architecture and Design administrators, and industry alumni—attended the showcase and engaged directly with students, offering thoughtful feedback and professional insight. Following the showcase, advisory meetings were held to discuss program goals, future opportunities for D|Fab students, and details regarding a potential articulation agreement with NJIT. Their presence and participation provided a meaningful link between student work and real-world application.
Throughout the day, students and staff visited the showcase to explore the exhibits and support their peers. The energy in the room reflected the pride students took in their work and the strength of the D|Fab community.
"At the advisory board meeting, I recognized the magnitude of how much our architecture projects have set us for a successful career in architecture or design. I learned that our projects we work on in class are at the college level. It was really insightful to get feedback from people working in the industry, and their comments and suggestions have definitely made an impact on my creative thinking."
