Visual and Performing Arts Students from County Prep High School Honored at Hudson County Alliance of Teen Arts

Congratulations to the County Prep High School Visual and Performing Arts Students who participated in this year’s Hudson County Alliance of Teen Arts!

The 38th annual art expo was held at the Liberty State Park Terminal Building from May 6th through May 13th. With over a 100 photographs and art pieces, collectively, and various performances in different categories, County Prep is proud to announce that we’ve received 13 awards.

Caitlyn Chua won Top Honors for her “Fruit Salad” in Fine Arts. The following students won a Judge’s Awards in Fine Arts: Bhakti Pandya, Danna Penuela and Shams Ismail.
The following students won Judge’s Awards in Photography: Nahmir Frasier, Galilea Escobar, Andy Montojo, Tykeith Morrieson and Kermena Hanna.
In Fashion Design, Jonathan Latchman and Justin Parrenas received Judge’s Awards.

In Performing Arts, County Prep was awarded two Top Honors in the categories: Jazz Ensemble/Vocalist and Jazz Combo.
All County Prep Top Honors recipients in both visual and performing arts will have the opportunity to be showcased in the State Teen Arts Festival at Middlesex College from June 4th through June 6th.
According to Mr. Gerard Patten,

“It’s been a great week of showcasing our students' work and seeing them support one another at the awards ceremony. You all should be proud of yourselves as County Prep sure is.”

A special thank you to our Superintendent, Ms. Amy Lin-Rodriguez, for both her support in the visual and performing arts and for attending the awards ceremony where she handed out the awards and congratulated each of the students. Thank you to our principal, Ms. Mendolla, for her outpouring of support throughout the process. Lastly, thank you to our Photography instructor, Mr. Gerard Patten, Fashion Design instructor, Mrs. Janet Patten and Fine Arts instructor, Ms. Kori Lauto, who were in attendance.
