Students in the High Tech French Club and French classes recently immersed themselves in the rich traditions of French culture by hosting mask-making event for the Mardi Gras celebration.
The event was a colorful display of creativity, an engaging exercise in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), as students participated in the creation of their own Mardi Gras masks.
Mardi Gras, or "Fat Tuesday," is a festive celebration and it is deeply rooted in French culture, particularly in regions like New Orleans, Louisiana, which has strong French historical ties.
"It was so much fun to make my own mask and learn about the history of Mardi Gras," said Malk Mostafa, the president of the French Club. "It really brought French culture to life."
