HTHS Students Reunite with Alumni and Engineering Apprentices at Eastern Millwork, Inc.On Friday, February 27, Eastern Millwork, Inc (EMI). welcomed Ms. Simon’s Industrial Design class and Ms. Bartolotta’s Engineering sophomores for a behind-the-scenes look at how architectural millwork goes from concept to installation.

Students explored construction documents, materials, and the fabrication of complex panels, following the process from initial sketches to final installation. They also spoke with High Tech alumni now working as Project Engineers at EMI, as well as alumni in the HOLZ TECHNIK ACADEMY enrolled as Engineering Apprentices.

Reflecting on the visit, sophomore Evelyn Mozo said, “I loved seeing how teamwork plays a big role in their work. Everyone has a specific job, and they all work together to create high-quality products.” The day sparked questions about installation, project timelines, and career paths, giving students a real-world perspective on opportunities in millwork and construction.
