SECAUCUS NJ - We are thrilled to announce that High Tech High School has again emerged victorious in the New Jersey High School Consumer Bowl, securing its fourth consecutive county championship title! Led by the exceptional leadership of Captain Amaan Ansari, the Hudson County team, who competed against three other high schools: Secaucus, North Bergen, and Bayonne, showcased unparalleled knowledge and dedication throughout the competition.
Hosted by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, which is a division of the Attorney General’s Office; The competition uses a game-show format to test students’ knowledge of consumer laws in New Jersey. Competing as teams, students answer questions about “real life” topics dealing with credit, new and used cars, sweepstakes, telemarketing, and other general consumer topics. This knowledge gives them the power to spot scams and protect themselves from fraud and dishonest business practices.
Congratulations are in order for team members Benjamin La, Zoe King, Jenima Charles, and Omkaar Sampigeadi, along with Ms. Erika Zucconi, proud advisor, whose commitment to consumer education and teamwork propelled them to this impressive victory. We look forward to seeing them excel at the North Jersey Regional Competition in April. Join us in celebrating their outstanding achievement and unwavering dedication to excellence!
