Last Friday, students from High Tech High School's French class took center stage at the renowned French Theatre Festival Première Scène held at the Lycée Français of New York. The students immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the festival and delivered a captivating performance of their original scene, "Réunion de Famille" (Family Reunion).
Our students' hard work and dedication paid off, as they were awarded the prestigious "Coup de Coeur du Jury" (Jury's Favorite) award. This recognition highlights their talent, creativity, and command of the French language.
I am incredibly proud of my students' achievement. They poured their hearts into writing and rehearsing 'Réunion de Famille,' and their passion for French language and culture truly shone through in their performance. This festival provided an invaluable opportunity for them to experience the richness of French theatre and connect with other Francophone students.
The French Theatre Festival at the Lycée Français of New York is a highly regarded event that for 26 years brings together students from various schools from the United States and Canada to celebrate French language and culture through theatrical performance. Also, schools from France, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Canada, and Los Angeles were able to enter in another version of the Festival: the video competition of their performances. Participating in the festival provides students with a unique opportunity to develop their language skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of artistic expression.
Congratulations to our students: Chloe Ehrenfeld, Ambika Rao, Reese Jenkins, Heba Elsayed, Amber Seniuk, Muneera Munpen, Mystique Auguste, Stefanie Campos, and Kohana Matsuno for their excellent performances. They made us proud!
This achievement underscores the strength of the French program at High Tech High School and its commitment to providing students with enriching and rewarding learning experiences.
