Explore Middle School Students Inducted into the National Junior Honors Society

(April 25, 2023 - Jersey City, NJ) Explore Middle School students were inducted into the Explore Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society on Tuesday, April 25th during a ceremony before parents, guardians, teachers and friends. The event was a culmination of an extensive application process that included essay writing, recommendations from teachers, and both extracurricular and academic exceptionalism.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle-level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. The National Junior Honor Society elevates a school’s commitment to the values of each pillar. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

During the ceremony, the 7th and 8th grade students took a pledge, led by Mr. Nocum, to uphold the standards of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship, all of which they have displayed thus far in their time at Explore Middle School.

“It’s an honor to be part of a major recognition welcoming members into our chapter. Every year we induct new students who bring energy and enthusiasm in support of our continuing work as N.J.H.S. members. Congratulations again to our new inductees; I’m looking forward to working with you all,” shares NJHS Advisor Mr. Adrian Nocum.
