Ms. Batista's Senior Architecture Studio class, accompanied by school counselor Mr. Morrison, had an incredible opportunity to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity on February 13th. This hands-on experience not only strengthened student's teamwork skills but also deepened their understanding of the importance of service.
The trip was organized through Greater Newark Habitat for Humanity, which serves Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. Students received comprehensive training on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment before engaging in various construction tasks, including plastering, painting, and trim work.
Once completed, the building will serve as a hub for Habitat for Humanity, providing low-income housing units and essential community resources to support local residents.
