This weekend, students from our Model Government club attended Harvard Model Congress in Boston, the largest congressional simulation conference in the world. This event gave our students the opportunity to step into the roles of real-life members of Congress and government officials while debating complex national issues. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, leadership, and thoughtful participation. We look forward to continuing to foster meaningful discussions, spirited debates, and empowering our students to confidently express their perspectives on important political matters. Out of our 20 participants, 16 of them were chosen as scholarship recipients. Along with her recognition, Senior Vega Sarma was chosen to be the keynote speaker at Harvard’s scholarship reception. A huge thank you to club advisors Mr.Jiovanny Aguiar and Ms.Cassandra Velazquez-Murphy for their support and guidance. Congratulations to these students for their awarded recognitions:
Desiree Okonkwo - Honorable Mention in Senate Judiciary Committee
Joliana Ibrahim - Honorable Mention in Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee
Louise Brenes - Honorable Mention in House Education and the Workforce Committee
Vega Sarma - Best Delegate in Media Committee
Congratulations, everyone - we are so proud of you!
