Chef John Palsi for being named the Hudson County Teacher of the Year!

The MAT Department and HCST Family would like to congratulate Chef John Palsi for being named the Hudson County Teacher of the Year!

With over 20 years of professional culinary experience, Chef Palsi has spent the last 24 years shaping the next generation of chefs here at County Prep. Before joining the district, he worked as an Executive Chef in New York City and New Jersey, and even owned his own restaurant.

Beyond the classroom, Chef Palsi is known for leading students to success in competitions like SkillsUSA and FCCLA, assisting in our food truck and outdoor grill programs, and organizing community service events—like preparing Thanksgiving meals for local families and supporting Jersey City Youth Foundation programs.

His dedication, mentorship, and passion for both food and education have made a lasting impact on our students and community.
