(September 24, 2018--Jersey City, NJ) High Tech students Cenera Davis and Iurii Martyniv of Jersey City, Secaucus resident Gabriel Chaves, and Mercy Urena of West New York, all part of instructor Jared Krinsky's Interactive Media course, have been accepted into the Golden Door International Film Festival for their animated short, The Final Pin, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.

Set against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline, the Golden Door International Film Festival serves as a four-day film festival for filmmakers, actors, and crew to network with colleagues and share their work with the public in the heart of the indie filmmaking landscape. The name “Golden Door” originates from the Emma Lazarus poem, which adorns the base of the Statue of Liberty and whose final line reads, “I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

“It is a great honor to be accepted into the film festival, especially for animation,” notes Krinsky, a veteran teacher at High Tech.
